The path that led Chris and Elaine Havens to create their beloved Riven Rock Ranch began with childhood farm and ranch backgrounds. Years later during Chris's corporate career, he and Elaine, an artist, traveled worldwide and had the luxury of being guests in elegant accommodations. Their greatest pleasure came from the entertaining they did during this same time period in their home. They loved taking care of their guests and providing them with fine food, wine, conversation and camaraderie.

When Chris transferred to San Antonio in 1996, the culmination of their past and their new-found love of the beautiful pastoral Texas Hill Country came to fruition in the form of the Ranch. At Riven Rock they have combined a gorgeous working farm, exquisite accommodations and the finest of settings to once again share with those around them.
Recently The Terrace Grill & Native Plant Center has been an exciting addition to the Ranch for the Havens.' The restaurant and garden is enjoyed by the guests lodging in the cottages as well as the public who stop by for lunch and/or dinner.
