Our Mother’s Day Survival Guide
Tuesday, April 17, 2012
With Mother's Day swiftly approaching, I hope you are all fast at work devising plans to lavish tons of gifts and praise on the mothers in your lives. Moms, arguably, have some of the toughest work around and can use a good ‘thank you' every once in a while! Here are 4 ideas from the Riven Rock crew to make sure your mom has a fantastic Mother's Day.
1. Take her to The Terrace Grill for a lovely Mother's Day Dinner
Chef Brantley has crafted another delicious holiday meal. This time featuring a plated meal composed of such mouth watering options as mini crab frittatas, the elegantly presented apricot and almond salad, a hardwood grilled fresh salmon served over a warm tabouleh salad and sautéed spinach, and a scrumptious organic bananas foster. And this is only 50% of the menu! To view the complete menu offerings, please visit our Mother's Day event page.
2. Make your own card (no matter what your age)
Can't find a card that says what you're feeling? Why not make your own! You can go as whimsical as the old fashioned macaroni card or something especially heartfelt utilizing old photos.
3. Encourage a hobby
In this busy and frenetic world, it's easy for a mom to forget about herself. This Mother's Day remind her about a hobby she hasn't picked up in a while. Is she interested in photography? Give her a new lens for her camera or find some photography classes. Does she love to cook? A spice set or cooking classes might do the trick.
4. You can't go wrong with a well-thought-out gift
The tried and true gift for many millennia, jewelry is always a safe bet. For some Tiffany's may be a one-stop shop, but for the quirky mom check out the gift options from Uncommon Goods. Other sites, like FindGift.com have a gift-finder that can winnow down the list of choices to ones that fit the person's tastes and the occasion.
